A long group thread can contain one decided time, three food suggestions, two people who have not answered, and a joke that accidentally looks like a commitment. The conversation is private; the logistics can be rewritten cleanly.
Do not upload screenshots or copy the thread. Read it yourself and create a short factual summary with generic roles. Include only options, explicit decisions, constraints, and open questions. Ask AI to organize that new note.
The decision-brief prompt:
Organize this newly written summary for a six-person potluck. Decided: Saturday at 5:30 at Host’s home. Confirmed contributions: Main dish by Host, salad by Guest A, dessert by Guest B. Create sections for confirmed decisions, proposed items, owners, unresolved questions, and the shortest neutral follow-up message. Do not infer commitments or include private conversation.

Make commitment a visible status
A useful brief separates decided, offered, assigned, and unanswered. It should not convert “I could bring drinks” into a commitment or treat silence as agreement. The follow-up asks only the questions needed to close the plan.
- Decided: Record facts the group explicitly agreed to and who confirmed them.
- Proposed: Keep offers and possibilities separate until someone accepts ownership.
- Open: Ask the few unresolved questions that affect what others need to do.
Send the brief back for correction
The people in the group must confirm that the summary is accurate. Keep names, addresses, contact details, food needs, and private context in the group’s own communication channel.
